The three things in life that a girl needs..

1. To pick up this book, we'd all save ourselves a lot of drama/hurting! Its short and sweet but to the point.

" If a guy doesn't call you, he doesn't want to call you"

" So trust me when i say if a guy is treating you like he doesn't give a shit, he genuinely doesn't give a shit. No exceptions"

We lie to ourselves and make exceptions for guys, if a guy has your number and is interested, he will call/text. None of this " busy" bullshit. Everyone has been here... Girlies the right guy is out there!

2. A signature pieces or pieces of jewellery - whether it's a ring, a bracelet, a friendship bracelet which is slowly fading, some pearl earrings or a pendant, they tend to make an outfit " you". I couldn't be without my pearl earrings, they are an instant way to make an outfit look a little more classy and dressed up.

3.Be yourself, i love you guys, i love that I've met some amazing friends of out it, yes Ally i'm looking at you! But honestly guys, we need to be just us, and accept us! Don't change yourself for anyone, keep being goofy, true friends will accept you for who YOU are.

Accesories are a girls best friend, not diamonds although they are a close contender. I fell in love with this satchel as soon as i saw it, its a little small for its purpose ( school bag) but i put up with the fact that i carry my folder around now if it means i can use it. I didnt realise that its actually very similar to the proenza schouler satchel. I also bought this leopard print scarf, its stunning and not my usual style, but i think my style is changing. I bought both of these on eBay, if you would like to know the seller then leave a comment below!

I also have been decorating my new room, so here is a sneak peak before i do a total post on it. You would not believe the transformation. It still needs more pillows, striped light blue ones and the room needs more blue tones and just the " finishing touches"

I've been an awful blogger lately, but i've discovered this website www.yesstyle.com.

There is so many things that i want/need!

Like this bag for only £24, the prices really do vary somethings are ridiculously cheap and then something seem way too expensive for what they are. I cant also comment on the quality of the products but they definitely have the cuteness factor.

£16, also be aware that often the clothes are "one size" and are fitted for asian type bodies, so the sizes are limited :(

I've been busy busy, excuses i know! But you may notice on the sidebar that Apothica are sponsoring me, which is fab! In fact i shall be hosting a giveaway soon sponsored by them. I recently received a Bobbi Brown lipstick in the shade red, you all know that i think Bobbi Brown is highly under rated as it's amazing quality and neutral shades.

It goes on like a dream, the shade is more on the berry tone rather than orange. It does make your lips look white which is a bonus considering that the wrong shade can make your teeth rather yellow ick! Sadly the formula is matte and slightly drying but that is quite normal with red lipsticks. I cannot wait to wear this on my next night out.

* I received this lipstick from Apothica but the shade/item was my choice.

Gosh its been forever! But im here now!

This time last year, i was in New York...granted ive have had a good week. February has always been a good month for me..This time last year i was living it up in New York, shopping way to much and getting hit on by many New yorkers and an Aussie haha. Fast forward a year, i'm in a sleepy town, have a potential bf in my life! You all would very much approve! and am looking forward to this week of parties, dining and sleep!

But recently there have been some amazing collections out,

Bobbi Brown rich lip colour, serious lust going on, how gorgeous are these colours! Personally i want the Bikini pink shade ( far right)

Mac's new collection dedicated to "wonder woman" which always reminds me of Summer from the OC, her "gift" to Seth. The packaging is kind of tacky, but i like it haha! The blushes/bronzers seem to be supersized as well.

Im lusting after Sephora's OPI nail polish in Metro chic. There is a story behind this little beauty, i actually bought it while in New York, but somehow i smashed the bottle. Now being all fate driven, for ages i have been like no i cant buy it! I wasn't meant to have it! But look at it!! Its meant to be mine :)

A little pretentious, i think so! But i'm hoping the new number system for each post should inspire me to post more and well it always looks prettier in french!

Mini nail polish haul

My new additions to my ever growing nail polish collection, from left- OPI Lincoln park after dark, Essie Lilacism and OPI Bring on the Bling

Lincoln Park after midnight- Its a stunning blackened eggplant colour with a shimmer when it hits the light. Its formula is perfect as always, chips around 3 days which is good for my nails. Definitely a winter polish must have!!

Essie Lilacism- Hmm more suited for summer/spring but adorable anyway. Its a light blue/purple, ie lilac but lighter than typically described lilac. I love it! Formula is a little runny compared normal essie and especially compared to OPI but is lovely nevertheless.

Best for last!!

OPI Bring on the bling- Ahhh! Its stunning, and is literally just serious amounts of glitter. Formula, little chippy and is a pain to get off as usual with glitter polishes. Its the perfect holiday colour, or for a night out. It will or should get lots of compliments :) Its from OPI's new collection Burlesque.

Prepare for complete random ramblings; boredom has completely set in! I have been ill the last couple of days.. which has meant no halloween plans :(

I stopped the boredom due to;

Its official, im a convert.

Bobbi Brown's make-up is so pretty and natural and literally will suit anyone. The philosophy is natural beauty, enhancing one's self without creating a mask. i have previously bought her "Shimmerbricks" but nothing has ever wowed me until before.

Bobbi Brown eye-shadow in Taupe- The eye-shadow is a muted matte light taupe colour, i consider it what Mac's wedge eye-shadow should have been. The pigmentation is fabulous, considering what i have heard. Its so wearable and natural.

Bobbi Brown Blush in Pale Pink - "oh" was my first response to when it arrived, its a bright cool pink which does look a little scary in the pan. However on the skin, its warm and that perfect almost sunkissed glow.

I did infact begin a little tester blog, but no! I have done that so many times, this is in fact my third blog. Carrie Bradshaw would be ashamed of me. Ah yes, Carrie Bradshaw, my topic for today's post.

These past few weeks, SATC has become my addiction, the clothes are often not so " lovely" i will admit. But it was the 90's to 00's, and believe me that era was not pretty. Carrie Bradshaw, however her personality is, she's that girl you want as a best friend, the one you do sort of admire.

Its rather shameful that i havve only just gotten into this show, and i've been watching it rather backwards! I've watched the last two seasons first, gosh, how sad was the storyline with the "Russian". His love for her, that whirlwind romance that every girl wishes for, but then the "marriage" story just ruins the whole fantasy. Paris, well what can you say to that... Boo!

So i have just finished reading Bringing Home the Birkin, its a pretty light hearted read but rather interesting. To sum it all up, its about the author who moves to Spain and sells Hermes on Ebay for a living. He then discovers the most desirable thing is Birkins and his hunt and method for securing these, oh so exclusive bags.

It is just a light read, nothing serious! Perfect for that summer beach book or if your like me and like to read when you are sick! I actually ventured outside my house today to the shops for the paper and a coke, my allergies have left me cooped up in doors these past few days

Etsy is a well known online website, with people selling homemade goods without the whole auction purpose of Ebay. It can be overpriced but sometimes its ridiculously cheap. Here are a few gems i have found.

This cute bunny plush is by Manic muffin totes, there are plenty of ridiculously cute plush's!

The side ways cross, has become super popular in the beauty/fashion blogging community due to lollipop26 loving it on Taylor, Rachel Zoe previous assistant.

Next is the gorgeous keychain by Pruittdesigns. I love the sheen of the shells and the pop of red.

The food network is just Perfection! Especially at night, when there is nothing else to watch.

Guy Fieri - host of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. This guy travels around America's traditional and amazingly popular diners, you name it they serve it. Craazy Big burgers with unimaginable combinations, pancakes which literally make you drool, and basically anything you fry, or grill! It makes me wish we had something like that, a real traditional local diner! To be honest, this guy is a NUT!

Giada De Laurentiis - She has an Italian cooking show "Everyday Italian", which she cooks traditional italian meals, deserts, almost like a Italian much thinner ( sorry Ina!!) Ina Garten.

Ina garten " Barefoot Contessa", the queen of miss measuring, adding crazy ammounts of oil, butter or sugar to any recipe. Her deserts are really what i watch this show for, or sometimes her meals, they are delicious! The most amazing brownies ever, key lime pie, peach shortcake etc. Ina is the reason why i got addicted the food network in the first place!

Im considering pursuing a degree in Business Studies at Uni. I have an penchant for Beauty products, fashion and cooking. I spend most of my time with friends, family and my pets. Simply for me and my loyal readers, its really a creative outlet for me, and ive met some amazing people through it!

Really anything! I love to blog about beauty products, my life, fashion and cooking! I love to make wishlists, my inspiration.

3.What do you find to be the biggest reward you get from blogging?

The amazing people you find, and the nicest comments and knowing that people actually enjoy my random rambles. I've met so many amazing people through this, and infact next year i may actually met one of them which is super exciting. You make friends, that understand your blabbing about absolute random stuff that they actually enjoy too.

4. How Long have you been blogging?

Truthfully for that two years, on and off. But this last year ive really made an effort, even though school work has had an effect these last few months.

I started this blog mainly focusing on fashion and it does kind of reflect that. I began playing around with the word couture, which is one of my favourite words!

1. Find a new remote beach, pack; a picnic, speakers + yuur bff's.
2. Create a new playlist, nothing is better than having the windows down and bursting the eardrums of your friend.
3. Learn to cook something new! Anything, anyone can actually cook!
4. Have a barbeque or at least go to one, its just a simple essential summer thing.
5. Lose the heavy makeup, sweaty makeup is icky.
6. Watch a firm favourite tv show series
7. See the sunrise at least once.

So this blog has become rather a weekly thing, rather shameful. I mean to but i tend to either forget, write a blog and delete it due to hating it, or am completley stumped on what to write about!

Personally i was a huge lipgloss fan, until i realised its kind of icky looking and feeling. My addiction began with MAC's hue, a pretty simple pinky nude! Though i am increasingly becoming more and more tempted by YSL's rouge volupte's

Left to right

1. Lady gaga- viva glam edition by mac. Its a light cool toned pink, however moisturised lips are advised as it does tend to emphasise dry lips

2. Angel - mac, what more can i say than its Kim Kardashians favourite. its a cooler slightly purple toned pinky nude.

3. Hue - Second tube! By mac, its my go to lipstick. Its the perfect pink/but warm toned nude, and looks great for everyday, usually suits everyone!

4. Please me - by mac again of course. completely pink matte shade, not my total favourite but looks gorgeous with a balm on top.

5. Speed dial - the brightest in my collection, a total brightish pink, slightly warmer and can tend to make the teeth look yellower so beware! Perfect however for a simple eyelook!

6 Positiano - chanel's aqualumiere lippie, suprisingly out of my comfort zone regards to tone as its rather brownish. However it applies like a sheer nude tint, so doesnt give that awful brown lips look.

Finally after months of growing out my pob, i decided to get a haircut. Simply shaggy side fringe, lots of layers! Im hoping it will be easy to maintain. Also i know i promised youtube videos but they will come soon!

Outliers- story of success by Malcom Gladwell
Such an intresting read, its about how people become successful and what influences it and how some people can exactly the same but only one will be actually successful due to background, personality etc. Really gripping and was a times bestseller.

Hurt Locker
Seriously an amazing film, but in a way that it doesnt actually feel like a film whilist your watching it. Its so tense and almost like a gripping documentary. Its basically about this crazy wreckless guy that deactivates bombs in Iraq. The film is so sad, but not in a " i need tissues" way. Must must watch it!

I cant get enough - Rooney
Im addicted to this band, which you may remember from the OC - im shakin. They have a new album out, AMAZING! Perfect for those summer days. I really have been playing their album non stop.

Quality over Quanity

We've all heard that phrase before, but do we truly apply it to real life?

Honestly no, i dont. But i intend to, mixing both classical "quality" pieces with "quantity". Truly, those quality items will last for many years, and often come back into trend, for example Rayban, i stole my dad's vintage avaitors from the first time they were around and they look just as perfect as the brand new ones.

How do we apply it?

Basic but classical items

Nude/black/pink ballet pumps- these items are complete classic, and you should try and invest in leather pumps. Why? they are better for your feet,by moulding to them and it being breathable and they will last a lot longer.

 White/Gray/Black Deep v neck tee- Utter staples, look amazing with a simple jacket/leather jacket, with plain skinnies, leggings etc, they look even better with a scarf. American apparel are amazing for these :)

Jeans- A girls most worn item apart from underwear, but why do we refrain from buying the best when its such a necessity ? Because simply they are boring, they dont create many outfits like a new top does. However we should, because they will last alot longer, wont date, if you buy the right pair and fit you better.

Cardigans/Jumpers- classical, fit well and last. These will see you all year round, and will make or break an outfit, they don't have to be cashmere, or even wool but just good quality!

Isn't she pretty, with only essie and one chanel. OPI's bottles are pretty ugly and they are not my kind of shades anymore ie the brights! Have you heard also that they are stopping online stockists and they have threatened legal action due to some bloggers posting a new collection. Boycott!!

Would you believe how fast this year has gone by, i cannot believe it is almost Summer.
I began the celebration with..

Krispy kreme's and bellini's = the perfect birthday breakfast. Inducing a much loved sugar coma, perfect for opening gifts. I must confess they are guilty pleasure for me, i adore the kreme chocolate coated doughnuts or the maple glazed. Yum Yum

The fun began with a houseparty around a friends, much less hassle than hosting your own. However i do have a plans for a massive house party to celebrate my birthday instead. It was total fun, hanging out with friends, silliness and masses of birthday hugs and at the end of the night everyone singing "Happy Birthday" much to my embarrassment.

The best "birthday" cake ever, yes that cheesecake is as tall as it looks YUM, little messy looking but my mom seriously makes good cheesecake. Based on Junior's Strawberry cheesecake i tried in NYC

Now onto the gifts, i was rather spoiled!

Xen Tan, were very kind and recently sent me 3 products to trial and review.

Transform- gradual self tan
Transform Luxe- premium sunless tan
Body Scrub - exfoliating wash

Transform Luxe

This product is part of their new "LUXE" line, it's a daily self tanner which smells amazing! It has a vanilla, almond smell and doesnt leave that lingering fake tan smell afterwards. The new formula has more DHA included ( DHA is the ingredient that gives you a tan). One downside is that it is white lotion so there is no colour guide. However you dont actually need it, as it applies like a dream :) Retail price is £23.95

Transform

I use this to top up the Transform Luxe. Transform tan has had a bit of a makeover! Bottle wise and scent and texture! The scent is competely different compared to the LUXE, it says it has a "citrus-melon" scent, to me it has grapefruit passion fruit scent. It can be used as a daily moisturiser too. Retail price is £14.95

Body Scrub

Perfect for prepping the skin for fake tan! It smells delish, really minty and fresh. The beads are pretty tiny, and kind on the skin. The scrub is pretty simple to use, just use it instead of your showergel/soap :) £13

A big plus for these products is, NO ORANGE! I was even asked if i had been on holiday whilist using these products. To me that just proves it looks natural! It's a natural olive tone, which gives a golden brown unlike st tropez which is more reddy to me and blocks my pores :(

I was also sent a mit, which is super soft and i would reccomend it. However personally i use my hands to apply fake tan as i get a better finish.

I truly believe in them. I was on twitter and mentioned to the designer how much i liked his products and how i was going to purchase one of his items! To my suprisal, he amazingly offered to send me a selection of his products for me to review!

Everything is Rhode Island, down to the material, handcraft and buttons, keeping that american brand! Kiel even lists on his website, where everything comes from, down to buttons and materials. The idea came from his summers where he would make a Turk's head knot rope bracelet and then sadly have to cut them off at the end of summer. However he decided to develop the idea a few years later, so it is fastened with their signature button, so that you'll never need to cut that bracelet off again!

When i opened the parcel, I found these amazing products and that they all smell SO good!

I received;

Crystal Carey Bliss Bracelet ( Cape and Brighton Beach), I adore the bracelet, it seems to go with everything. Infact i have hardly taken it off since! The button colour is yellow, which i would describe as mustardy. On the website you get to choose which button colour you would like. The material is gorgeous and really high quality, so you definitley get what you pay for with this brand! I cant stress how much i really do love this bracelet Link to Crystal Carey Bliss bracelet ! Hoffy Dug Warner earrings, these are seriously cute! I would never think to pick these out for me, but they are adorable! I wear mine frequently. How cute is the packaging too! Vicki Jerangle Carrick Headband, is similar style to the rope knot bracelet's. It gives a real classical feel to any outfit and is perfect for sweeping your hair back whilst still looking chic. This brand is really something special, the products have such an amazing quality and uniqueness about them. Easily becoming a signature item for yourself, i already have my eye on these products for my birthday! I think it shall become an addiction uh oh!

My new beauty secrets are rather random but delightful.

Ysl's faux cils, has a rather ouch worthy price compared to other mascaras. But seriously its worth its £20 price, well for me maybe. Most mascaras causes my lashes to thin and fall out. It creates amazing and well it looks pretty damn cute in my makeupbag.

Super suprised at this one, im a bit of a makeup snob but the mother suprised me with this. It's the holy grail, it hands down beats all of the mac and clinique concealers. The sponge applicator and liquid consisency means that it doesnt sink into creases and leaves it looking flawless.

Clinique dramatically different moisturizing GEL - not the lotion. Previously i've been using the lotion but by a simple mistake i ended up with the gel. My skin care routine and the ditching of my Laura Mercier foundation have rapidly cleared up my skin!

Did i forget to mention i was a Geek last week, how fun is that!

So for the past week or two, ive been giving hints about a new haircare line i've been trying out. The company is Neal and Wolf - http://www.nealandwolf.com/

Developed by, Neil Capstick, who has worked in the hair industry for over 20 years. The fragrance of the line, has been created by the perfume house, behind some of the world’s finest scents. The line was created for professional salon's, but Ive found it available to buy online.

The company is simply delightful, the products were in such a pretty package, with a little catalogue and bunches of the prettiest white tissue paper.

So what did they send me?

Fix- A hold and shine spray, which i adore! I love the fact that its a hairspray without a nasty aerosol( It's mist like spray), but it actually makes your hair amazingly shiny without that horrid greasy look which a lot of products do! The hold lasts all day too!

Elevate- A volumising lotion, which i apply after towel drying my hair, the texture is like liquid gel but isn't too runny, so its easy to manage and apply evenly all over the hair. This really does give me great volume, so much so that Ive not backcombed slightly since!

Harmony- A miracle product! It's an intensive conditioning treatment which i tend to use 2 times a week, leaving my hair instantly soft, conditioned, shiny and healthy! I leave it in for 3-5 minutes on my wet hair.

The smell is pretty unique, i've been told quite a few times how good my hair smells! It reminds me honey i washed the kids or beeswax.

what else do i love about this line? Since i've been using these products with my new shampoo and conditioners ( matrix amplfying range), i now only ever need to wash my hair every other day at the most, whereas before it started to look a bit lanky and not so fresh at the end of the day YUCK! Personally i think this line is better than Redken!

Exciting review coming soon, the company's pr service was amazing, it all came so fast and was beautifully packaged and i can confirm that atm i am in love! I cannot wait to show them to you, however they need a few more uses before i can honestly review :)

New addiction- Essie mint apple candy, its the perfect seafoam blue, kind of tiffany blue.
I personally adore essie over OPI, the formula is so much better,
it chips alot less for me, which is major plus point for me.

A year in Beauty

This fall, the beauty industry went crazy over chanel's jade polish, even more so than the infamous black satin. It sold out in under 40 minutes and you can find this £16 bottle for selling up to £100 on ebay. There are dupes, however none come really close.

Dolce and Gabbana brought out a makeupline, with scarlet johanasen as the face of the brand.
The makeup has gorgeous packaging but from what i can tell its not HUGE in the industry more like a gimmick.
Half shaved hair a la Cassie, not a trend to be taken lightly! Personally i think it look silly but alot of the celebrities jumped on this trend such as Rihanna, Amelle from sugababes, Alice Dellal.

Youtube Beauty bloggers, took youtube by a storm, such as Juicystar07, Allthatglitters21, panacea81 and Bubsbeauty. Some even having hundreds of thousands subscribers, some have even made careers out of it such as panacea81 who has her own range in sephora, a video game. Juicystar07 and Allthatglitters21 got invited to do makeup at New York fashion week. However there has been some controversy regards to paid reviews and reviews of products and how honest some have been. Check out my my friend, sarahbelle83x on youtube, she has a few thousand subscribers!

Ysl's glossy black lips, not for the faint hearted but caused a stir in the industry. It also inspired mac's Style black collection which featured a black lippie.

Calories?

A little off topic, but rather relevant considering its been fashion week lately.

Now the thing that got me thinking was New York, if you didnt know in NY, they are legally required to clearly show on the menu the calories of each product. So say you are in mcdonalds by the side of chicken nuggets will be 200 cals. It actually gave me food for thought while out there.

While in New York, i lost 5lbs over those 5/6 days. Which strikes to me as a little crazy without trying. But i can identify why, 1. The calories shown, honestly we would go out to eat and the 2000 calories would easily put you off. Thats a whole day's allowance. For example in Mcdonalds, yes shameful but before i would order a meal, but the calories shown put me off 2000 cals for a burger and fries. No thanks. So i made choices to just get either the burger or the fries.

2. The actually healthy options available, people say yes NY is full of junkfood. Frankly it is, but there was always the healthy option around the corner. Every morning i would go to " Speedy's Deli", which i would grab an ice tea/juice, a fruit cup and varying between a muffin, croissant or a fruit granola parfait. So the last choices arent so healthy but they were filling and i could go until 3/4pm without needing food. Baring in mind we ate at 8ish.

3. Walking, we walked on average of 4/5 miles a day ( we used the subway as well). More than i usually do, boy by the end of the day my feet would be killing me. I still have blisters, but its making the choice when your feet are tired to walk a few blocks instead of calling cab.

What are your thoughts on models?

Personally, i find models too skinny at the moment. There is skinny and then really skinny/unhealthy. Yes i know many are naturally skinny, my cousin is one of them but the sallow skin, emaciated bodies are not naturally skinny. The pressure in the industry is immense, i mean look at two top models who have come out about the pressure.

Coco rocha, weighing in at 7 and half stone. Thats 105lbs, she is considered too fat for the industry. Which to me, is crazy, she personally looks alot better than the skinny/unhealthy models you see. Check out her personal blog on the whole controversy

My current loves,cravings etc

1. An old Jeep wrangler, i really am wanting an old car right now. Call me crazy but either that or an old mustang. Hmm or maybe an old truck, yeah im not so loving, new cars right now.

2. A Cath kidston dog bed, my dog currently sleeps on my bed, dont ew right now! But yeah i think he would look adorable at the bottom of my bed sound asleep.

3. Godiva chocolate dipped strawberries, YUM, anything Godiva. I adore their gold collection, especially the hazelnut praline covered in macadamia nuts. Honestly they are worth a try.

4. Ian Somerhalder/Damon from Vampire diaries, this guy was hot in LOST, but i have to say he is much hotter in vampire diaries. One of my new TV addictions, kind of filling the gap True Blood left.

5. Viva La Juicy, smells so good and lasts a long time. I get bored of scents really easily so i welcomed a new change. Bit like how i managed to pick up 3 other perfumes/body mists in NY, ooops.

My five days in NYC

I'm back from the most amazing experience of my life, there is so much to say and tell! All you New Yorker's i must say i am insanely jealous and one day i shall be one too. I love how a quick trip can have an effect on your daily life, I learnt some life lessons, amazing shopping and the guy that got away.

Day one

The flight to New York was well, rather like any other flight, it seemed to take forever, the air hostess missed me out when giving out food, so vegetarian risotto was my only option left. My new hand luggage's zip broke after checking in.

Once we arrived, our hotel was perfect, a 5 minute walk from times square, with everything on your doorstop! Our room ( my friend and i) was a little small, but it did it's job! Bathroom was tiny, a quote from one of my silly friends " You couldn't swing a cat in here".

Later that night we went to the Rockefeller centre, which was amazingly beautiful at night with all the city lights. However I'm ashamed to say the subway easily the highlight and my regret of my night, put it this way, i got to sit next to the most insanely hot guy, who wouldn't stop asking me questions, with the most bluest eyes, tanned, dark hair and a American accent. Unfortunately i never even got his name, before i had to get off the subway :-(

Day two

After an awful nights sleep, we walked down the street for breakfast- fruit cup, ice tea and muffin. The subways when cancelled are such a nightmare, as it meant for us,we had to walk 20 blocks to the Statue of Liberty, with a further 30 minute wait while freezing to death and my feet absolutely aching. Not moaning or anything ;-) Somehow we all missed the ferry back to New York, due to miscommunication between the group and it leaving 5 minutes early. 30 minutes later, we were walking to Ground Zero.

Ground Zero, touched my heart and honestly i cannot even begin fathom the devastation 9/11 left behind, the lives lost and the fuckers who believe the conspiracy theories. Once you see the wall with a picture of every person who was lost that day, that they have to use to DNA to identify those small bone fragments to give closure to that one family, hearing a firefighter talk about his experiences and the audio tour in which a man's son died and you see his sons uniform where the blaze ripped in right down the middle and his burnt helmet. Its seriously one of those things that breaks your heart and i tear up when thinking of those faces on the wall, a poignant moment in my life.

Macy's, well what an experience, something i would not like to experience ever again. Awful sales assistants...

Day Three

The first of the half of the morning was spent at the natural history museum, with the planetarium show was amazing, if you like space/science, if you have the time, one day have a watch. Natural history museum was bit of a let down, rather boring if you ask me. However lunch was at the most amazing traditional pizza place, its near the museum/ Dakota building.

Duane Reade near 34th street is well...amazing, i bought Essie/opi, l'oreal hip makeup, so much junk food for bringing home and the staff are pretty decent. A carriage ride around central park at night was pretty cute however i can imagine it would be alot better during the day. After this a few of us ventured our way to Times Square which it is surprisingly easy to navigate.

We ended up 40minutes early before we were due at TGI's, so MacDonald's seemed like an easy option for a drink, most of us grabbed a hot chocolate or ice teas, our feet aching, so tired and freezing. After about 20minutes a black scary looking guy, walks up to my friend, *Sam. " Shoot I'm serious, I'm motherfucking serious, stay there I've got a fucking gun in my pocket" is the first thing we hear. Our faces drop, we crap ourselves, until we realise he's just rapping. Uncomfortable with the situation, the guy then tries to sell us a paper for $3, at first we were like " no, we'll think about it, no thank you" etc. He then proceeds to sing"my sweet valentine" at me. Yuck, Sam gave him a dollar to go away, turns out the paper is three days old... Another guy then tried to get money from us, for the homeless.

Now don't get me started on the most awful service at TGI Fridays in time square. Try an hour wait with a 9pm booking, then a further 50/1hour before we got our actual food, it was around 11 before we got our actual food because they fucked it up. At that point we were so tired, we couldn't care less about the food.

Day 4

Finally on the 4th day, absolutely shattered we all were allowed to sleep in till 9am, Empire State on the agenda, with no rush. *Abi who had to use a wheelchair that day due to her back killing and being super tired due to her M.E. The wheelchair was actually like a golden ticket. *Abi, two other friends and moi were allowed to skip ahead the 60 people queue, the ticket guy hitting on us. We did not have to queue getting up the top, we had our own lift etc, while the rest of the group stood in queues waiting to get up hehe.

Next was the " New York Public Library", which we couldn't go in due to there being a fashion show being held there! Pretty cool to see all the NYC fashionistas. A few minute walk and we ended up in Grand central station, hello, gossip girl? stunning architecture and great cheesecake haha.

Avenue Q was our last night in New York, the broadway show was suprisingly better than expected and funnier, if a little ruder than expected haha.

Day 5

The weather changed dramatically on our last day, a blizzard decided to appear, making the trip eventful walking to Wall Street,we took a picture with the "Bull" lol. After that we went to the finicial musuem, after all it was meant to be a business studies trip. Some hottie Aussies asked me to take their picture lols. Then MAJOR shopping, century 21, Abercrombie, Victoria Secret, tourist shops and duane reade. Will do haul post next!

- Subways are suprisingly easy to navigate once you know what your doing
- We lost several people each day, down the subway, in shops and in the Rockafeller centre, due to the crazy business of NY and the disorgansiation of the teachers!

My 2009 Favourites

Here are a few of my favourite things i discovered last year and i'm sure i will adore this year too. As to keeping from my last post, fashion, beauty and sneaky food items!

Fashion

1.Pashminas...
These have become a staple in my everyday wear, they are so warm and cosy. In any colour, i find they add a little bit preppiness and a little something to any outfit. Typically i wear them with skinny jeans, cable knit jumper and uggs/leather boots.

2. Gilets...
Another firm favourite! Hollister actually make lovely ones, which are so warm due to being filled with down. A must have staple!

3. Plaid!
Flannel/plaid shirts are another staple! They seem to look great with skinny jeans or distressed mini's.

Beauty
A few favourites i've discovered quite recently

1. Mac Studio sculpt concealer...
Aamazing, so creamy and the coverage is pretty good!
Unlike the studio fix, it blends and you dont need much.

2. Covergirl Lashblast mascara...
Volume, volume and a little bit of length! Its pretty cheap too ;-)

3. Mac please me matte lippie...
So pretty, simple makeup, and a statement ish lip is kind of my staple now. Its very matte also, a baby roseish pink. (not my picture but its very similar to how i wear it!)

Life

1.Glee...no explanation necessary.

2. Cupcakes...
Maison blanc make the best chocolate cupcakes i have ever tasted. Such a guilty pleasure, with a cup of coffee.

3. Yankee candles...
Yankee candle tarts, these make your house/smell divine. my mother got me so addicted to these, i have a glass bowl in my room filled with every scent imaginable. Bay window, exotic orchid and cherry blossom are my favourites, sweet but fresh.

I remembered this a few days ago, and decided to have a look. It brought shame to me, as i found i wasnt following the advice i gave to other girls.

What advice would you offer to other bloggers?
Take time on your posts, have fun, dont waffle, lots of pictures.
Also if your blog is about something ( fashion etc) don’t post about your life all the time as it becomes boring and your readers don’t click on your blog to read about your life, they want to know about fashion etc.

So as promise to you, i will not waffle, blab about my life constantly, and well stick to fashion and makeup. My readers have been dwindling, comments are rare but appreciated.

Hello Sweetpeas

Life has been a little busy at the moment, as you can tell since i have not blogged since last tuesday. After finishing all my work and taking a hot lush bubble bath, i am finally feeling inspired. Also i hope you all like the slightly new look "kickingcouture" has got.

So what has been going on in my life lately?
well, i dyed my hair yet again. Just simply darker back to my natural colour, and im loving it. Also i really reccomend picking up " Julie and Julia" its making for a fantastic read, i bought it for the plane ride but i couldn't resist delving right in!
Shabby Chic, i used to deteste this kind of style. But this and all those preppy blogs have got to me! Im craving floral printed bedding. Funnily enough i actually have a cath kidston throw packed away somewhere from when my mother tried to decorate my room that way! Hmm me thinks i will be getting it out sometime!

Organization 101

Heya!

Organization is the key to life, it helps things run smoothly well at least thats what i am hoping. Darlings i've become rather slobbish in my ways, my room is well rather a mess, my folders for school are unorganied and sloppy. Im tired of it, tired of well tidying my room often enough, for it to then be messy 2 days later. Enough....

I've just ordered a few things;An agenda. This Lily Pulitzer agenda is seriously cute, unlike my school planner everyone is given, man i begrudge using the thing. It hasnt got enough space, its plain ugly, it doesnt have a monthly calendar either. Unlike this cute thing, which has all of those things and more!! Having an agenda will allow me to plan ahead, write those important things/dates down, not forget anyone's birthdays, when assignments are due!

Ring Binder folders. Perfect for storing all your notes in, mine are getting tatty! I think im going to complete reorganize my folders too, buy some dividers of course in cute colours. Ring binders save your life!

Highlighters. Highlighting under important phrases, notes and words make life simpler. I could not be without them! Mine all ran out and ive been borrowing my sisters for the last week during exams!

Ball point pens. Inky pens and me just dont mix, my writing is even sloppier than before!! I adore these zebra grip pens, they are mini but they have this soft rubber around where you hold it! Hmmm and this pack of multi colours is cute.
Post it notes. These little buggers keep me sane, i keep a large stack on my desk, stick them on my window each time i think of something i need to do!

Meet my haul...

Little bit of retail therapy while doing my exams, so if you've been wondering where i have been simply revising, taking exams all this week which i have to say i did rather terribly. Ah oh well, retakes are in June.

So i stumbled into my local Lush store and picked up alot of things woops! There is an offer on at the moment, spend £20 get £20 free!

I ended up with

Bath Ballistics
2 Vanilla fountains- they seriously smell amazing, slightly floraly with a strong vanilla obviously.
3 So white - Like apple and fresh linen, stocked up as its a christmas only one sadly.
1 Cinders- Hard to describe, its a wintery spicy smell with poprocks inside!!
1 Jingle spells- hmm not my favourite, well it was a freebie. Juniper berries.
Mister Butterball- Yum, cute snowman shape of the famous butterball.
Bubble Bars
Comforter- Amazing, smells just like blackberries, definitley a must buy again.
Candy cane- Another amazing smells like vanilla candy!
Holiday - its dorothy's shoes in a bath bubble bar! covered in red glitter smells like roses.
Soap
Honey i washed the kids- Repurchase! Smells like caramel and honey.
Father frost- smells like cranberries,apples and a slight masculine.
Randoms
Shower jelly, shower jelly- smells amazing like mincepies and cognac and oranges.
Face mask, crash course in skincare- Smells icky like lemongrass and avocado but does an amazing job.
1/3 of the comforter bar!! Crazy bubbles,great smelling bath and pink water!!

This crazy ammount only came to £20 because of the offer and well it helps that the hot lush guy find some christmas stock and gave me a few freebies/samples, let me make mental note to go back soon :-)

Also had a little mac order, which took forever to arrive!! 9 days thanks to the snow. Bought Woodwinked ( Almost got a full pallete now!!) From the new collections i bought

Bleugh im sick! Seems like, its really going around at them moment! My dear bloggie friend ally is also sick, check out her cute blog ! http://allisonladolcevita.blogspot.com/. I spent the day making spicy chicken tortilla soup, a movie marathon snuggled up with a blanket and lots of tea.
I may have done a little online shopping :-) I bought a box of gold godiva chocolates, A hoodie and oxford shirt from jackwills and with the release of macs new collection i got " Feelin good" tinted lipconditioner, "Feline" kohl eyeliner and an eyeshadow in "Woodwinked".

I made spicy chicken soup! It was really simple, i used chicken thighs which i put a jalapeno type chilli under the skin with a pat of butter. I baked those in the oven, which while that was cooking i used a tin of tomatoes, chicken stock, chopped up some shallots, carrots, and potatoes and garlic. Let it all simmer for a while, once the chicken was cooked i simply took it off the bone and shredded it and plopped it into the soup. Some dumplings too :)

Its snowing too!!!! Its started about an hour ago and we have 3 inches already. Snow day for me :-) As soon as we had an inch or so, i pulled on some sweatpants and UGG's and took some piccies. How does 16 inches sound? well that's how much is predicted for my area woohoo!! I'm thinking sledging tomorrow!

Oh and if you haven't already, watch the mentalist! I keep rambling on about it to my dear friends but i absolutely insist you must try it, just once. What a hottie and its pretty funny too

I've been trying to track down this lippy for months after seeing it in a magazine. Its chanel's positano. Mac's Please me is rosy matte pink and is pretty cute.

Well this little loot will certainly keep me busy haha

This kit was more expensive than the normal ghd's, it included a cute heatproof bag, a tote bag, clips and hairbrush but i asked for this because £35 goes the breast cancer charity. They are seriously amazing and hands down beat chi's!

haha my idiot dad picked up the aftershave not the womens version. Its regarded as being pretty cheap/chavvy. But honestly its the nicest perfume ever, it smells so fresh almost like the air at the beach with this sweetsmell with a touch of citrus. I adore it, should be swapping it tomorrow if i manage to go shopping!

- Indian Culture, i've always been in love with the indian culture as a whole, but since watching " The family", which is a fly on wall documentry thing on a indian family ( Pregnant daughter, Son getting married, totally hot bollywood actor). - False Lashes, ftw mascara has nothing on these babies. Im currently loving thickish but look natural lashes. Really reccomend the girls alloud collection by Eyelure.

Every girl needs a signature lip, to bring out your naughty side a red lip is a must, its classy with that smudged eyeliner look ( MAC's Russian Red). Good girls well, they like to play it safe, a tinted lipbalm gives that im wearing makeup but man i dont need it ( Benefit's benetint).

Nailpolish. Black, your thinking hmmm what a stereotype. But seriously every girl good or bad needs just one little bottle of it their life. It can be classy or badass( Chanel black satin, OPI onyx). Good girls need a little lilac too, its different from the classical baby pink, its pretty and girlie.

Skinny jeans, bit like leggings. You dont know what your missing until you wear them constantly and yes you always have a favourite pair. These ( Forever21) Jeans are so cheap- $30. Go with everything, bad girls need a distressed grey pair, good girls, pale denim is cute.
Starbucks gift cards, yum! Naughty girls drink it straight, good girls, you name it. " Syrup, full fat milk"

Holy crap its december 1st already! Isnt that exciting, finally i can start watching christmas movies and blasting my music. Tell you what did break my heart, while letting the dog out to do his business, i saw my oldish neighbour decorating his tree all by himself :( He has his family and wife as well living there.

Well third times a charm, I finally bought a dress.
So pretty! Honestly, i think its gorgeous, im planning to wear it with black high heel pumps, silver/gunmetal jewellwery and baby blue satin clutch.

Hair/makeup- Definitely a half up do, cant decide whether to have it straight or curled- will leave it to my hairdresser. Makeup,Im thinking a smokey brown eye! and nudey pink lips. May have to visit my local mac counter hehe.

Realising and finding yourself.

Im finding myself, finally. Im finally being who i want to be.

Im realising that if your friends bitch about each other alot, they will for sure be bitching about you FACT. Bitching about other people gets you no where. It reflects badly on you, and honestly its just rude. If you hear someone is bitchy, im making a vow not to join in.

I'm realising that exercise is not your enemy, laziness is! Pump up some tunes loud, and just get on with it. I look forward to getting on my elliptical, Basshunter pumping crazily loud in my ear and working up a sweat most days.
I'm looking forward to a christmas social, and wearing this dress, black tights, black bow pumps and a tan.

That the preppy look is more me, and to stop changing for other people. I will wear hoodies and gilet's, leggings and jeans and uggs with thick ballet pink pasminas.

Loving - Barry M's 101 lipstick, woah this thing is like the uber nude lipstick, but its so pretty on your lips. I love it with a tinted lipbalm !

Ballet flats- Yes im in desperate need of ballet flats, its crazy i find it impossible to find the perfect pair, these come close!

That lace dress- i have a winter social coming up and im willing to spend crazy shipping to the UK for that baby! Any ideas on what colour shoes/accesories? im a little stumped.

Yup, still ill... had to miss school today. I spent the day sleeping, or watching movies.

My outfit consists of my two loves - Old and new

New - Black leggings, i finally found the perfect pair- miss selfridge!
Old- Gap hoodies, seriously they are soo warm and cosy and last for years!! I have a childs one i still wear which i must of bought when i was 12 and im 16 now!

Oh and a mug of hot chocolate and fuzzy slippers : )

I cant believe its friday already!! Life's like a whirlwind at the moment.

I finally got my haircut and highlighted, its a bit of a shock as its darker now ( no more blonde bits) and is waay shorter..

Excuse the lack of makeup, its after a full day of school with no touchups! and ignore the silly face haha

Crazy thing is that my hairdresser thinks i should get a long bob!! and im seriously considering it??
